He karere ā te Aranga | Easter Message
Kia ora e te whānau,
As the golden leaves start to turn and the air gets a little crisper, we pause for a moment this Easter to reflect, reconnect and reawaken the things that matter most, whānau, aroha and the gift of new beginnings.
Easter, at its heart, is more than just chocolate eggs and hot cross buns. It’s a time of resurrection, of rising again. For some, it’s the story of Ihu Karaiti, who laid down his life and rose again in love and sacrifice. For others, it’s a season that reminds us of the power of second chances, the strength in unity and the healing that comes with hope. No matter your walk of life, Easter is an invitation to let go of what no longer serves us and make space for fresh starts.
Here in our little corner of Aotearoa, surrounded by whenua rich with whakapapa, we’re reminded that life, just like the whenua, goes through seasons. While some seasons bring challenge, they also bring growth. Just like the rīwai pushing up through the soil or the harakeke unfurling its blades. So too do we grow together.
Take this time to slow down. Sleep in. Laugh with the cuzzies. Reflect on what matters. Maybe even call that cousin you haven’t seen in ages. Whether you’re tucked up inside with a warm blanket watching the rain dance on the windows or traveling the roads, know that you are part of a wider whānau who care
He mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Thank you for being part of this community and for supporting our Marae with your digital and physical presence.
May your Easter be filled with peace, purpose and plenty of kai.
Ngā manaakitanga o te wā o te Aranga ki runga ki a koutou katoa.
(Abundant blessings of Easter be upon you all.)
Kia pai tō rā whakatā,
